Born in Gainsville, Florida, raised there and in Mobile, Alabama, Rob’s early years were spent in a hotbed of musical talent. He grew up in the same neighborhood as Stephen Stills, and some of the first musicians Rob shared the stage with were the future members of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. Rob spent several years performing in little clubs on the Gulf coast while picking up multiple instruments and developing his musical skills.
An absolute master of the harmonica, outstanding on guitar and lap steel, Rob has also honed his skills on keyboard. In the eighties, Nashville greats recognized Rob’s talent and he toured the U.S. as a sideman for George Jones and Leon Everette, performing at Wembley Arena in London in a transatlantic country music tour. Rock and Roll pioneer Bo Diddley is another legendary figure with whom Rob has toured.
Today Rob is a well known and much respected solo artist. His versatility, demeanor, and professionalism place him in high demand as a session player, he has performed on more than 55 albums to date. A charismatic entertainer, Rob merges Blues, R&B, and Acoustic Rock into his own unique style, reflected not only in his own songs but also in covers ranging from J.J.Cale to Van Morrison to Jimmy Buffett.
