Andy Thompson was born in Trinidad, West Indies.  He came to the United States in 1967 to travel with
the Esso Trinidad Steel Band, touring extensively with Liberace throughout the country, performing at the World’s Fair in Canada and on the Mike Douglas show.  He later relocated to Brooklyn, New York, and then Reading, Pennsylvania before settling in Americus, Georgia.  He has arranged music for numerous steel drum bands, toured with a school for under-privileged kids from the Bronx, New York, performed seasonally for many years at Myrtle Beach, SC, and played for former president Jimmy Carter on several occasions including performing at the President’s church in Plains, Georgia.
